We are seeking a Senior Writer with demonstrated success in translating complex ideas into compelling content that “WOWs” our client base as well as internal stakeholders. You must be a quick study, able to generate concepts and write pieces that advance our brand in the proper voice. You will be part of a team that collaborates with nearly all departments within RealPage, including senior and C-level management. We need someone who, over the past ten-plus years, has cultivated a career in digital, been schooled in print and the talent to present the “BIG IDEA,” manage teams and tell engaging stories to B2B and B2C audiences that achieve desired responses and conversion goals.


• Be passionate about connecting with audiences and moving them to do something

• Create innovative, thought-provoking content ideas; take complex, technical jargon and translate it into simple, everyday language that speaks to solving the target’s pain points

• Conceive and write video scripts for a variety of RealPage products and services; act as director/script supervisor on shoots as needed or required

• Adapt and extend themes and creative approaches to every channel within a marketing campaign including but not limited to; email, landing pages, web pages, event communications, flyers, print ads, videos, etc.

• Understanding of the use of technology in the delivering content in addition to maintaining a working understanding of SEO best practices

• Utilize background knowledge and intellectual curiosity to quickly develop an expertise in multiple topic areas in the rental housing and real estate industries

• Collaborate effectively with all internal teams and stakeholders, other marketing staff members, member organizations, and external partners to develop ideas, collect content, and produce the best work possible 

• Work with the Market Advocates to understand go-to-market strategies for assigned product groups and apply this knowledge to creative messaging approaches 

• Ensure a consistent message and writing style across our various product families, while adapting voice and style to suit each product; copy edit and proofread work in order to ensure brand tone and flawless execution

• Write smart, clear, long-form copy for print publications and work with other teams to repurpose writing for various internal and external channels

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Able to juggle many projects at one time and meet all deadlines

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills as well as strong presentation and public speaking skills

• Work well on a team and be willing to pitch in in any capacity to accomplish the goals of the organization

• Function as a ghostwriter for senior and C-level executives for articles, op-eds, speeches and more

• Good sense of humor, great sense of patience


• At least 8 - 10 years of experience as a professional writer

• Ability to produce clear, concise short-form and long-form writing and to frame complex issues for varied audiences

• Team player with an entrepreneurial spirit, proactive personality, and the motivation and ability to collaborate across multiple creative teams within a fast-paced environment

• Demonstrated experience exercising independent judgment and taking the initiative while juggling multiple projects with multiple stakeholders

• Experience preferred but not necessary of demonstrated leadership and management of others

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in journalism, writing, or a related field, or equivalent experience
