Job description

Lead brainstorming sessions:

  • Develop innovative solutions to creative challenges
  • Discover ways to communicate unique messages
  • Plan content strategy for new products and concepts

Interpret creative briefs into content:

  • Write clear, engaging, persuasive and on-brand copy for: marketing emails, retail/POP signage, Home Chef web pages, digital advertisements, blog pieces, social channels, company collateral, campaign videos and other endeavors as needed

Work within a style guide:

  • Own, maintain and evolve the existing brand voice to accommodate the growing needs of the company
  • Maintain a clear record of version changes.

Partner with cross-functional team:

  • Work closely with the design, marketing, retail, and product teams to create content, develop workload efficiencies and collaborate on output

Writing Skills:

  • Ability to write persuasively in both a formal and social voice
  • Ability to communicate in the Home Chef brand voice
  • Comfortable with multiple formats and lengths
  • Ability to write with engaging, emotive tone as well as a transactional/directive copy tone
  • Proofreading and editing skills

Project Management Skills:

  • Responsible attitude, confidence, autonomy, proactivity, attention to details and the ability to cast ahead for future projects
  • Easily move between solo work as well as team collaboration
  • Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner while balancing time, multitasking and interruptions


  • Highly creative and imaginative, and ability to produce innovative and original ideas
  • Experience with 360 marketing campaigns as well as direct and transactional digital channels
  • Openness to receiving feedback


  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize strategic messages and multiple opinions into consumer-friendly copy


  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college
  • 5+ years of experience in copywriting for a brand or consumer-facing company
  • Food industry experience a plus
  • Ad agency experience a plus
